Operation Compassion/Ministry to Israel: 'A Jewish Homecoming'
4/6/01

Russian Jews on their way to Israel.

Buses arrive in Novosibirsk every Monday from Omsk with Jewish travelers on their way to Israel. Partnering with sister organizations such as Operation Compassion, Ministry to Israel is expanding the fishing of Jews in the southern region of Siberia.

Responding to the call to help the Jews in Siberia, Russian Christians have answered in an overwhelming manner. In only a few short months Russian “Fisher-men” have been established in four regions and their influence is growing rapidly. Almost everyday teams go to Jewish villages, in vans supplied by Church of God Christians, with information and financial assistance to expedite the tedious procedures each family must go through in order to immigrate to Israel.

People like Aaron, a 94-year-old Jewish man who has lived in Omsk all of his life, now has, for the first time, the chance to fulfill the hope of a lifetime, to live in the land his forefathers could only dream about.

The best friends Israel has are the discerning believers in the Jewish Messiah. Christians who know deep in their spirits the ultimate plan of the God of Israel to restore his Chosen People to the Land of Promise and then reveal Himself to them there.

Today, right now, in the opening decade of this new millennium, there is a “dividing line of fire” before every nation, every denomination, every church and every believer. A call from the Holy Spirit to take a stand for Israel, not necessarily on behalf of a political entity, but a stance along side the people of Israel, people to whom God promised He would restore in the last days.

For this purpose, Operation Compassion has chosen to partner with Ministry to Israel in its endeavors to feed the Russian Jews living in poverty and help return them to their homeland.
