Appalachian Dream Center Continues to Assist Those in Need
8/29/01
The Appalachian DreamCenter continues to be very active following
the recent Flood Disaster. There have been several Youth Groups
staying at the DreamCenter, as well as Lifebuilders and Men of Action.
There have also been several churches to visit the DreamCenter.
The Princeton Church of God, Princeton, WV, visited and painted
and cleaned two rooms in a 1-night and 2-day stay.
The new Martinsville Church of God, Pastor David Snyder, helped
Lifebuilders and Men and Women of Action to remove a commercial
Kitchen from a school in the area. They also unloaded food and miscellaneous
items, helped make food boxes and served hot meals.
The Canton Temple of Praise, Canton OH, donated and sent a semi
full of clothing, beds and appliances. They set up a Saturday clothing
giveaway and painted several rooms and hallways. Canton Temple recently
adopted a room at the DreamCenter, which will be used to house pastors
and their families who are unable to take a vacation. They also
toured an area where the flood disaster hit very hard.
The groups staying at the DreamCenter also went to the Matheny
Church of God where they helped remove the damaged fellowship hall
and parsonage. They were able to restore the fellowship hall.
August has been a very busy month at the DreamCenter. They have
received numerous shipments of products, which have been distributed
to state and area food banks. Their most recent shipment was a load
of sweet potatoes, which was given out to area food banks and the
county of Logan, WV. They have served over 200 food baskets and
prepared over 1,500 hot meals during this month alone. God is doing
awesome things through the ministry of the Appalachian DreamCenter!
